The Vessel

At 43.3 meters (142 feet) in length, the MV Grand Sea Explorer is the epitome of luxury, intended for pampering and a level of service found nowhere else in the Red Sea. She is stable, spacious, and offers smooth cruising. Accommodating 22- 28 divers (only 22 divers required for full private charter), this opulent vessel has 14 staterooms split into two [very large] suites, 2 double cabins, and 10 twin cabins. 

All rooms feature air conditioning, stereos, personal fridges & safes, and en-suite bathrooms with jet showers. There is plenty of space onboard, both on the dive deck and in the extensive and welcoming main deck salon with a separate dining area. On surface intervals, divers can unwind on the covered sun decks, watch movies or listen to music on the latest entertainment systems, or use the free WIFI to share their Instagram-worthy day.

The MV Grand Sea Explorer is specifically designed for divers looking for luxury and a well-built vessel for cruising between dive sites. The huge waterline-level dive deck can accommodate all 28 divers with individual seating stations, and 3 professional guides will be in the water on each dive. It is customized for effortless diving. Rest assured, the MV Grand Sea Explorer is fully licensed to cruise the entire Egyptian Red Sea and offers multiple itineraries to do so. Added bonus: Certified divers will also receive free Nitrox for their trip!

 

Itinerary

Please note that the itineraries is example only, and will change depending on weather and logistics at the Captain's discretion.

Please note that, depending on the boat schedule, cruise departure or arrival can sometimes be from/to Port Ghaleb (2h30 drive from Hurghada airport or 40mn drive from Marsa Alam airport). Corresponding airport transfers will be provided at no extra costs. Also depending on the schedule, the first or last night can be spent in a hotel in Hurghada or Port Ghaleb. All transfers, meals and corresponding services will be provided and the diving program will remain the same. For departure from Port Ghaleb, diving on Friday and Wednesday will be done in the Marsa Alam area, instead of Hurghada and Safaga.

 

Thursday - Hurghada: Boarding, Dinner, briefing, documents etc. First night onboard in the Marina. 

Friday - Sha’ab El Erg & Gubal Island: Departure around 8-10am, after port clearance; first dive in Hurghada area (Sha’ab El Erg) and 2 dives in the Gubal island.

Saturday - SS Thistlegorm, Dunraven & Ras Mohamed:  Up to 4 or 5 dives on SS Thistelgorm, Dunraven and Ras Mohamed National Park. See more about the Thistlegorm

Sunday - Ras Mohamed & Abu uhas:  Up to 4 or 5 dives in Ras Mohamed National Park & Abu Nuhas. Night crossing to Brother Islands

Monday - Brothers: Up to 4 or 5 dives at the Brothers Islands and sailing to Safaga overnight. (Please note night dives are prohibited at all marine park islands!).

Tuesday - Safaga: Up to 4 or 5 dives  on Salem Express wreck and Panorama reef, sailing back to Hurghada. Possible night dive in Hurghada.

Wednesday - Hurghada: Up to 2 or 3 dives in Hurghada area (Careless reef, Giftun islands). Return to Hurghada and last night onboard at the Marina.

Thursday - Hurghada: Breakfast and departure. Should you be leaving on an afternoon flight, you may leave your luggage aboard (or on the dock alongside) or at the vessel local representative’s office (situated in the New Marina) for pickup later. Due to the necessity of readying the vessel for the next cruise, they must strictly enforce the 12pm departure deadline.

 

Package includes

7 nights/8 days aboard vessel in standard twin/double cabin. Three meals daily, snacks between dives, mineral water, coffee, tea, juices, sodas. A glass of local beer, a glass of wine at dinner, free dedicated high-speed internet (when in 3G coverage range).

Same day roundtrip transfers (Hurghada, Port Ghaleb, Marsa Alam), up to 4 or 5 dives daily (depending on season), use of tanks, weights and belts, Nitrox 32%, Bath towels and bathrobes are supplied.

 

Package does not include

Flight and airport taxes.  Rental gear, instruction and retail charges. Fuel supplement and port charges. Crew gratuities (industry standard is between 10% and 15% of the cruise price, per passenger). Trip insurance (recommended) & Dive Insurance (required). Route supplement & port fees, $30 for an Egyptian entry visa, if needed (to be paid onboard). Onboard charges can change up to 30 days prior to departure. Cairo and Nile River extensions before/after cruise are available at additional cost. Please contact us for details. Guaranteed Single Occupancy is billed an additional 80% of the retail stateroom price (maximum numbers vary by departure).
